1. Formative assessment
Formative assessment activity would involve asking students to perform the following:
· To demonstrate understanding of a topic using a concept map
· Provide two-sentence notes on the key elements of the lecture
To ensure that the student attains the desired outcomes, a teacher’s responses would be evaluated to determine the learning activities to be modified.
1.1 Learning Outcomes
A teacher should give a substantive response to students concerning their performance while pointing out their weaknesses, strengths, and areas that require improvement.
1.2 Learning outcomes refer to key points that determine what learners have achieved and can demonstrate after a program. It identifies what a Lerner will be able to understand and do at the end of the program.
1.3 Solution
To effectively implement formative assessment, students shall be asked to answer questions step by step in order of difficulty. More complex questions should be introduced as time goes by to invoke critical thinking and creativity, thus helping achieve the outcomes.
