Spatial orientation simply refers to realizing where one is and how to navigate the world around them. The visual and tactile world comprises of different objects located in space. Therefore, understanding the features of the objects, their location and how to navigate through them are among the most significant aspects of development in young children. Consequently, spatial orientation is important in young learners as it allows them to locate objects and successfully navigate through them in their environments , physically and mentally organize objects in their world, express their needs or/and concerns, discuss and describe the world around them. As such, it ultimately develops their spatial awareness and manipulation capacity improving their ability to recognize objects in various orientations critical in reading and writing, mathematics among other subjects.
