Differentiation should be a regular occurrence in classrooms, not a one-time occurrence. The qualities of the learners who necessitate it are constants, as should be the reaction to them. Teachers' efforts to respond to disparities among pupils in the classroom are referred to as differentiation. When a teacher reaches out to an individual or small group to change his or her teaching in order to provide the best learning experience possible, this is known as differentiating instruction. Using tiered activities in which all learners work on the same important understandings and skills but with varying levels of support, challenge, or complexity, and establishing interest centers to encourage students to investigate subsets of the class topic that are of particular interest to them are examples of differentiating processes or activities at the elementary level. Personal agendas (task lists made by the teacher that include both in-common work for the entire class and work that targets unique needs of learners) are also created and completed either during dedicated agenda time or as students finish other work early.
