To lead the discussion to plan possible solutions one would use:
Creative thinking is the ability to look at a problem in many different ways. This might involve seeing a different way to do something, generating new ideas, or using materials in unique ways. Through brainstorming, a teacher invites children to be fluent thinkers by asking them to respond to questions that have many right answers. Also, a teacher may incorporate these questions into the interests children are involved with and the situations they are in.
Critical Thinking is the ability to mentally break down a problem or an idea into parts and analyze them. To plan for a possible solution through critical thinking a teacher provides plenty of time every day for children to choose activities based on their interests and developmental levels. Free-play situations create endless opportunities for children to identify and solve problems.
Furthermore, a teacher must follow children's leads. By observing children's interactions and dilemmas, you can support their problem-solving efforts and help them accomplish their goals.
Children may come up with solutions like sharing a toy they were fighting over and also being friends with each other and working together in class and on the playground.
