A curriculum's learning activities are made up of four components: content, process, product, and learning environment.

Curriculum content refers to the new information, abilities, behaviours, and attitudes that will be acquired throughout the activity. The content may come from a single field (topic) or it can be multidisciplinary. Any discipline's content may take the shape of facts, ideas, processes, principles, generalisations, theories, tactics, heuristics, actions, meanings, emotions, and so on.

Curriculum processes are the activities (thinking, emotional, physical, etc.) that students employ to improve their knowledge of the material. Students' learning methods include how they discover and use knowledge and resources, as well as how they interact with others (peers, experts, teacher, etc.).

Product: Learning experiences' products convey the content of what has been learnt. Bright and talented children should be required to provide proof that demonstrates their potential and development in knowledge, rather than their age. This expectation should be explicitly communicated via assessment criteria and processes.

Learning Environment: The physical and psychological characteristics of the environment in which students learn may be improved to maximise the advantages of distinguishing the contents, processes, and products learned.

Each aspect may be changed to suit the needs of a single or a group of high-ability students. The learning environment is where the content, process, and product take place. The components' interdependence is shown by the overlapping areas. This implies that modifications in one aspect will almost certainly have an impact on the others. For example, if the material is made more complicated, pupils are more likely to think about it in a new way; their thinking is more likely to become more complex.
