Bullying has a profound impact on those who bully, those who are bullied and those who witness the bullying. Bullying has a great correlation with social problems including unemployment, alcohol and drug abuse, divorce among others.


Students who are bullied may suffer from depression, anxiety and decline in their academic performance. They are also likely to seriously contemplate to commit suicide. They tend to withdraw from activities that they were initially interested in. They also have increased feelings of sadness and loneliness.


Students who bully others tend to be very violent, engaging into fights and vandalizing property. They also abuse alcohol and drugs both. They are also abusive towards their romantic partners, spouses, or children as adults.


Those students that witness bullying are more likely to skip school and suffer from depression and anxiety. They will also abuse alcohol and other drugs. It also affects their capacity to concentrate and learn.
