A teacher plays a very critical role in helping young people achieve success in the classroom. There are implications of teachers’ professionalism that every teacher should show within and beyond the classroom.
One, a professional teacher should have a neat appearance whereby if the teacher is a male he should always be in the male outfit, and if a lady is in a ladies outfit. This helps the teacher in setting a good example to the learners both within and beyond the classroom.
Two, a professional teacher should have a positive interaction with his/her learners. A positive relationship between a teacher and the learner within and outside the classroom helps students feel more comfortable and harmless in their environs. In addition, learners improve their contribution both in class and socially and experiment themselves.
Good communication skills are another implication of measuring teachers’ professionalism. A professional teacher should be able to communicate well with parents and other stakeholders in the school without raising a conflict.
A professional teacher should be able to identify the learners with needs. Identifying learners’ needs may only be recognized when the teacher is in a position to monitor his/her learner’s moods and be able to understand students’ interests in and outside the classroom something which is only done by a professional teacher.
