The best seating formation I can use for my classroom is the U-shaped layout. It offers great flexibility and can easily adopt to different types of activities. It supports both student-to-student interaction and teacher-to-student interaction. The class interacts in a large group format and teachers have an ample time to work with students one on one. Another great thing about a horseshoe sitting arrangement is that it tends to make students feel more included in the group due to its open environment, which is crucial in establishing a positive and cooperative environment. Its only major limit is it take up much space and thus limits group work discussions.
