The major difference between ethics and religion is that ethics are driven by morals and principles while religion is driven by belief. Ethics basically entail what is wrong and right, where one is convinced on the proper decision to make. On the other hand, religion is all about claiming that one's principles and beliefs are the most correct, therefore sensitizing people to follow them. Therefore, we can see that ethics try to follow logic and reason, whereas religion though it has logic and reason too, it is more about convincing people to follow a certain path, with the conviction that it is the best.
