Sindiwe Magona’s ‘Man Lands on the Moon’ comprises a plot in which a substantially intricately remote and inimitable village African setting is epitomized. Moreover, the setting contributes to a reader’s acquaintance with the typical African routine, the village’s topography, and the municipality’s social, ethical and cultural attributes. The setting is such as the inhabitants of the somewhat ‘primeval’ African region witnessed the entry of White folk into their domain and subsequently experienced a transition in the form of civilization. Moreover, the setting also demonstrates the stages of familiarity of the African region with modernized technology.
