Assessment is an integral part of teaching and learning. Outline the use of formative assessment. (4)
Answer
The assessment allows for daily development to be examined and informs each child's planning and goal-setting. Students will be allocated specific learning objectives for each period of school based on the evaluation results.
The primary goals of assessment are to inform instruction, to encourage and promote education, and to promote optimal individual development. Assessment must be an ongoing and crucial component of the teaching/learning process in order to provide teachers with crucial information. The procedures of data gathering, evaluation, reporting, and instructional application are all cyclical. Assessments must also be compatible with curriculum assumptions and clearly reflect a diverse set of objectives, such as processes, attitudes, and values, which are difficult to describe using a pencil and paper.
