Briefly demonstrate how you would provide opportunities for learners to learn about 2-D shapes in the following ways: • Visual skills • Tactile (touch) skills • Verbal skills • Movement (kinaesthetic) skills.
1. Use visual aids such as posters or draw the various shapes on a manila paper and present to leaners to aid 2D teaching.
2. Tactile skills may include using natural or real objects to allow children to associate 2D shapes with real items.
3. Verbal skills- May include allowing the leaners to repeat the names of the shapes so as to strengthen the understanding of 2D shapes by committing it to memory.
4. Kinaesthetic- Involves movement games for instance allowing leaners to form shapes like circles and rectangles together helps in the understanding of 2D shapes.
