What was your initial sense of McCandless’s mental condition compared to what you think now? Have you changed your mind?

At first, I thought McCandless was a normal man but he loved to be outdoors. His sanity was due to superb intelligence. My view on his mental condition changed as the story continued. He had this mental condition which affected his thinking. He had guilt that required to be resolved but his brilliant ideas did not work.
