online teaching and learning has become popular amongst students and teachers around the world today. So what are the pros and cons of this trend?

PROS:

more flexibility for learners - this is a big advantage of online learning. it gives the learner the freedom to study at their convenient time and place. This does not however reduce the workload for the students, only that they have a choice of when, where and how they study.

Ease of access - all one need for online classes is a computer and internet connection. This is less of a burden compared to physical learning.

readily available - studying online reduces many financial constraints that regular incur. Transport, cost of buying textbooks and so much more costs are cut off.

CONS:

Few courses online learning being still in the development stage, the courses being offered are fewer compared to those offered in regular classes.

less/lack of social interaction interaction among learners is a major and important aspect for their growth. Thus, in online learning there is no interaction between the learners or even teachers since all learning materials are sent via mail.
