The different set of beliefs of Makhulu Mamkwayi and her mother is central to the main conflict in the story. Write a paragraph in which you discuss the conflict and how it is resolved.
The main conflict in the novel,” Man Lands on The Moon” resulted from Makhulu Mamkwayi and her mother, who hold a different set of beliefs. Makhulu did not believe the white man’s narrative and her beliefs were embedded in the culture. She communicated with her cousin, Yolisa, who was dead because she hoped she would help her overcome the ritual spirit, which would change her into a zombie. Thus, she did not believe in the narrative of a man walking on the moon. Her mother, on the other hand, believed the white man’s narrative and considered her daughter’s encounter with Yolisa a lie. She believed she was dead. Makhulu blamed her mother for not being to save Yolisa. This made Makhulu regretful.
