Many of your learners dislike poetry. Find a short poem that you are certain will change their attitude
towards the subject. Copy and paste the poem into your assignment. Identify which elements in the
poem will appeal to them and explain why.
We learn from our mistakes,
From the wrong turns we take,
From the fake friends we make,
And from the times we almost break.

ELEMENTS IN THE ABOVE POEM
1) Rhyme - the rhythm created at the end of each line by the words take, make and break makes the poem more enjoyable to read by the learners. This will improve their understanding of rhythm in poetry.
2) Assonance - the repetition of the 'f' sound in the line ,"from the fake friends we make" creates half rhyme. This makes the poem so catchy and creates mental pictures to the reader. This helps the poem to be more memorable to my learners.
