6.1) CAPS documents issue detailed guidance for teachers on what they ought to teach. Therefore, they can be used to guide teaching.
6.2) As a teacher, the caps document helps ease the administrative burden and ensure consistency when teaching.
6.3) Teaching based on Caps is too rigid for the learner. educators cannot be trusted to take students where they need to be and at the right pace.
Presence of so much content to be covered , there lacks time for consolidation.
The content to be covered is also heavy. we often tend to think that content covered is same as teaching.
the learners are also over-assessed . we forget that assessing students so much is evidence of learning.
6.4) Caps is a type of curriculum assessment policy statement that describes the south African National Curriculum for grades R to 12. it is proving to be unable to slow the pace down and most of the learners are unable to catch up faster on some concepts taught.
6.4.1)These concepts are not applicable to every student. this is because students understand content differently and at different capacities.
6.4.2) teaching using caps covers a range of informal tests that a teacher can use to assess the process of learning by their students. these may include weekly quizzes and assignments. These usually has a major focus on subject matter rather than personalizing learning to fit each student. this fallacy is generalized to fit the general idea that if something is good for someone, then it is good for everyone.
