1. What is the justification for the claim by scientists/archaeologists that Africa is the continent on which humans made their first appearance?
2. How were the challenges of Charles Darwin regarding the mechanism for evolution changed addressed by Gregor Mendel
1.
Charles Darwin is credited with the theory that humans originated in Africa. Since our two nearest living relative’s chimpanzee and gorillas—live in Africa, Darwin hypothesized in his 1871 book The Descent of Man that it was probable that Africa was the birthplace of humanity. However, he also said that millions of years ago, a massive, extinct ape existed in Europe, leaving plenty of time for our earliest ancestors.

The lack of an appropriate explanation to describe inheritance was Darwin's mechanism for evolutionary transition. How would your account for the protection of differences through generations without such a mechanism, an inheritance mechanism was important because it supplied the raw material for natural selection to work with. Darwin was well aware of his concern, and he expressed it at different times. "Blending inheritance," a common hypothesis at the time, argued that children are just an average of their parents' two distinct characteristics.
However, as Darwin quickly discovered, combining inheritance had its drawbacks. It couldn't account for how differences were passed down over centuries, for example. If the distinctions between offspring were halved, each genus would be halved as well. As Darwin's book "Origin of Species" was being published, Gregory Mendel began to report the findings of his studies. These experiments, as well as the study of their outcomes, were and continue to be masterful illustrations of experimental method that should have appealed to Darwin's analytical mind. In 1866, Mendel's research was published in the Proceedings of the Natural Science Society. was that in the development of sex cells, or gametes, traits do not merge or combine, but rather segregate. Darwin should have realized the importance of this discovery right away. Mendel’s work and findings, on the other hand, were new to Darwin and were not well recognized until 1900.
