In essence, educators should focus on holistic development rather than empasising only on academics. For instance, a learner that shows interest in sports or art should be given the necessary support, instead of being forced to pursue conventional career paths. Short term goals are limited to excelling in class. However, long term goals provide skills that enable learners to overcome challenges and maximize opportunities in school and out of school.
