At witch stage can children formulate a “sentence” that may indicate what they want or what they do not want, or attempt to report something about themselves
Children reach this stage at the age of ten to thirteen months. At this stage, children utter one word at a time which is supplemented by nonverbal cues as well as the context in which it occurs.
At 18 months, children can utter a two-word sentence, which comprises of a verb or a noun plus a modifier. This allows the child to frame a sentence that may be imperative, interrogative, negative, or declarative. If this sentence is supported by nonverbal communication, it gives a complex meaning.
At the age between two and two and a half years, the child can formulate a multiple-word sentence, with a predicate and a subject.
