According to National Safety Council data, the cell phone contributes to more than one million six hundred thousand road crashes in the United States. The country witnesses close to four hundred thousand injuries resulting from texting while driving. Twenty-six percent of road crashes associate with mobile phones on the road. There is a need to create laws that will help to curb the use of cell phones while driving. The government should deal with drivers who have a tendency of using cell phones while driving. At any one time, eleven percent of drivers are texting or calling and driving. These has endangered so many road users. Over three thousand one hundred people lost their lives in 2019 due to phone-related distractions. Using a phone while driving is six times more dangerous than drunk driving.
