The hero in my life is Nelson Mandela. After spending 27 years in prison for fighting against racism propelled by apartheid, he was elected the president of South Africa where he fostered reconciliation. Instead of clinging to power as most African leaders, he only served one term. Mandela died a hero and a man of integrity honored by many globally.
