Service delivery in the community
Service delivery means that police services are localized where officers are required to enhance their responsiveness to the problems faced by the neighbourhood and its citizens (Brown, 1989). There is establishment of a police-citizen partnership that is nurtured, with an aim of identifying and addressing problems faced and those affecting quality of neighbourhood lifestyle. For their part, the police develop a sense of duty and commitment to resolving neighbourhood issues.
