Elements are the features of a literal work. It is very ironic to notice that Montresor for his desire to kill Fortunato. The vault represents the cask where Fortunato represents Amontillado. The author of A poisonous says, “As in The Human Abstract, the tree growing in A Poison Tree is an all-encompassing growth in the mind which is dark, evil and deceitful, resulting in physical and spiritual death”, this shows imagery. In conclusion, the two authors have used figurative language properly.
