The self-absorbed listener remains focused for the possession of traits such as not talking while others are speaking, Facial expression, and being able to internalize what she or he as heard. Self-absorbed listener also portrays body gestures such as nodding to encourage the speaker to continue with the speech. A good listener can also be identified through participating by asking relevant questions and discussing them with the speaker. Consequently, a good listener remains focused by having the conversation with the speaker, this can be done by the listener challenging the assumptions and disagreeing which creates a dialogue between the two parties. Subsequently, the listener is able to clear distractions like laptops and focus all attention to the other person while making appropriate eye contact. Additionally, the listener who is self-absorbed is able to observe nonverbal cues such as facial expression and other numerous subtle body language signals.
