Worst Valentines Day Ever
Mi Lin woke up itchy. Seeing tiny red spots all over her arms she groaned. What could be worse than chicken pox on the day of school's Valentines day? Everyone in school had been preparing for weeks including Lin. The festival would be the first ever as the school gave students a chance for a rare celebration after much lobbying. Although Mi Lin did not have a boyfriend yet, she was eagerly expecting Chan to make a move after weeks of flirting. A few days prior to the festival Lin had paid her ailing grandmother a visit at the local hospital despite protests from her parent. From her best judgment she might have picked the virus from the hospital.
Mi Lin was well aware of school regulations concerning communicable diseases. She would be forced to stay at home until she recovered. Lin was now at pains of what she would do with the new dress she had bought. In addition, she could not be imagine how Chan would be disappointed or even angered by her absence. Her greatest fear was that she perhaps Chan would hook up with another lady.
