1. Explain teaching as a science.
Teaching is considered a science because it is a practice informed by research. Educational researchers conduct controlled studies and the results are considered significant and valuable. Though the nature of educational research does not does not enable definite study controls or data like physical sciences, the results of educational research guide into an in-depth understanding of the learning process.
Like scientists, teachers experiment with new strategies and techniques to see if they work for them and their audience. At the individual teaching level, teaching also manifests as a science in that teachers collect data by observing their students to determine if learning has taken place and to identify the best learning culture.
