It’s all concerned with impartiality in so many ways. Sachar stabs fun at humanity’s impression of retribution building character, at people’s prejudice and sloppiness. On the positive flank, Stanley does discover improved integrity at the end. One that bonds up partial commercial ends up a foul hullabaloo and aids his family. It’s also concerned with insatiability and how individuals in a position of authority will practice and misuse it. The readers need to appreciate the lake and the famine with their notion of the settling of scores.
