It’s not easy being a bird, especially when you can’t figure out how to fly. That was Donny’s problem. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t lift off the ground. He watched the other birds and tried to imitate what they did, but nothing seemed to help.

Summer was almost over, and the leaves were starting to fall off the trees. It would soon be winter, and everyone would be heading south for the summer. Donny didn’t want to be left behind, and he didn’t want to be a burden. He needed to teach himself to fly once and for all.

Paragraph one shows Donny's inability to fly even despite trying many attempts to learn such as imitating other birds. There is relation with the second paragraph because the approach of winter required him to know how to fly to avoid becoming a burden to other birds during the migration.which could leave him at the risk of dying, therefore its crucial for him to fly.
