Why is junk food bad?
Junk food contains a lot of calories and have poor nutrients. Over the past years, there has been an increases in the consumption of junk and fast foods. As a result, junk foods have significant effects, which can be disastrous to human health. For instance, consuming junk foods regularly can cause various illnesses and a lot of weight gaining. Significantly, these foods plays a key role in the obesity epidemic, which is related with various health conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases among other chronic health conditions. Similarly, junk foods are connected to increased depression among many teenagers since eating junk and fast foods has been found to be a major risk factor for depression. Further, junk foods are associated with nutritional deficiencies among many children who consume a lot of fast and junk foods. As a result, such nutritional deficiencies leads to moods swigs, poor academic achievements, sleep disturbances, and low energy among others. Markedly, junk foods have chemicals that interrupt the hormones acts in our bodies, which may lead to reproductive issues such as birth defects. Overall, junk foods impairs digestion, increases the risk of cancer, and causes fluctuations in blood sugar levels. In conclusion, junk foods are not healthy for individual bodies and people should avoid their consumption on regular basis.
