There are several factors of the digital divide. They include geographical factors which are concerned with the remote areas, which are not considered when high-speed internet access infrastructures are installed. Social factors include limited access to technology as a result of low social class identity. Cultural factors relate to the use of the internet and the education level of the population while the ethnic factors are directly linked to the social, cultural, and economic factors and the disadvantage that some ethnic groups have in regard to internet access. Gender and age translate to one gender accessing the internet less than the other while the young generations have high access to the internet compared to the older generation.
