A multicultural classroom accommodates individuals of all races, cultural backgrounds and religions. English can be a difficult language to learn. It requires 4-7 years for multilingual students to be at par with a native-English speaking student. A teacher should create lesson plans that explain historical and cultural differences and similarities. They could set presentation projects where students share stories about their cultures. Teachers should incorporate classroom activities that involve all students so as to build friendships and minimize discrimination. Teachers may develop their own teaching materials by including a variety of books rather than wholly relying on the syllabus. It allows teachers to better evaluate their students by allowing more creativity during class activities.
