The protagonist of Jack London short story builds three fires on his journey on the wildness. The young man builds his first fire after he tries to eat his lunch but his lips couldn’t bite due to the cold temperatures. He builds a small fire which melts the ice on his face and allows him to eat his lunch. The first attempt was good and smooth however during his second attempt the temperatures are very low that his hands were frozen and could not hold a match stick. It became worse that man decided to kill the dog and bury his hands inside its warm body. The dog sensed the danger and backed away. The man attempt to build the second fire failed due to frozen fingers and he decided to run to make his body warm.
