Company B
Set up three years ago and employing about 80 people, company B has a board of directors and is registered as a private limited company (Ltd). It makes a similar product to company A, is much more reactive to customer demand and has never missed a delivery date even though there have been times when machine tools and other equipment have broken down. The company is organised in a flat structure and produces the same volume of product as company A.
Company C
This is a relatively young start-up company owned by three friends and selected by NAMC to collaborate on a new project. Company C’s management has decided to reorganise the research and development, design and manufacturing sections so that the business operates in a matrix structure.
