  1. You are to select one project for development from these three options:

➢ Read Tooley and Dingle’s BTEC National Engineering (2nd Ed.) 2007, Unit 3 pp191-242

This is level 3 but a useful read.

➢ Lock, D — Project Management 7th Edition (Gower Publishing, 2000) ISBN: 056608225X

Smith, N J —

➢ Engineering Project Management 2nd Edition (Blackwell Scientific, 2002)

     ISBN: 0632057378

using decision making software such as Mindgenius and devising a selection matrix. Your selection matrix may include parameters such as cost, availability of components, timescales, fit for purpose etc.

2. To achieve the Merit you need to use a wide range of techniques and selection criteria to justify the chosen option from the three projects identified in Task 4.

Produce a Gantt Chart using Microsoft Project or another appropriate software to plan for the activities of the project duration. The GANTT chart should clearly show the time durations for each activity.

Produce a project design specification (PDS) using British Standard BS 7373 –3, PD 6112 which will highlight relevant information to be included in your project development.

. Write a script file that will prompt a student to enter his/her class mark of a subject and then examination mark. Calculate the final mark taking 30% and 70% from the class mark and examination marks respectively and display the information to the student as Final mark = …

Where can we use/apply the clippercircuit in the field of Computer Engineering? Give at least 3 and explain briefly their functionalities/usage.

Task 2: 4-bit Adder/Subtractor

In the 2’s complement number system, we can accomplish the subtraction, A-B, by adding to A the 2’s complement of B; A – B = A + 2’s complement of B. This simple observation allows us to do subtraction using the same circuit used for addition. Note also that since 2’s complement of B = 1’s complement of B + 1 Therefore: A – B = A + 1’s complement of B + 1 Using the block diagram of a 4-bit adder/subtractor unit;

  1. Draw the corresponding logic diagram of the circuit.

  1. Draw the actual circuit.

An air core circular coil has 5000 turns. The inner and outer diameters are 20 and 24 cm

respectively. If a current of 2A is passed through the coil, determine the flux density inside the coil. Show complete solution.
