Question #218784

Discuss the similarities between the Rockwell and Brinell tests principles for the determination of hardness of the material.

Expert's answer

It is also the most often utilized test. The Rockwell Test measures hardness through a series of stages. In contrast to the Brinell Test, it employs a smaller indenter, such as a diamond. This indenter is used to apply a small load (a higher load/force is applied later) in order to prevent breaking the material's surface.
