Charging industries that pollute the air is the right this to do, primarily because it regulates the amount of harmful gases released to the atmosphere. All industries operate for profit and try by all means to reduce their expenses to get more profit. Knowing that the more they pollute the air the more they will be charged, cam make them control the pollution. Additionally, air pollution is associated with numerous social and economic loses such as corrosion of metals, discoloring of buildings, limitation of plant growth and production, and worst of all, is a threat to human health, hence the need for regulation.
