Explain the advantages of expressing concentration of solution in terms of formality.
Formality is defined as moles of solute per litre of solution. Formality is a substance’s total concentration without regard to its specific chemical form. In contrast to molarity, formality does not consider the number of particles and ions that are formed when the solute is dissolved in a solvent. It represents the total amount of solute in the solution.
