Make a creative story about the lesson of the polarity of molecules
Microscopic world is mesmerizing. It has different types of characters, some who are introvert and others who are extrovert.
The extroverts are amiable, friendly, outgoing and social, especially with water.
A well known extrovert is H2O molecules, but there are others like Ethanol also known as C2H5OH , another one is smelling salts (NH3) and its a character adored by human beings because its perfume is used to restore or stimulate senses. Other extroverts are sulphur dioxide (SO2) and Hydrogen sulphide (H2S).
What is common with these microscopic characters that make them attracted to water is their shape (Geometry). One part of them usually has a positive charge, while the opposite end has a negative charge, and their beautiful shape is known as polar.
That is not the end of the story, though, for a molecule to be polar it needs to have polar bonds and it needs a net dipole moment. This is a fancy way of saying that the electrons need to be shared in one direction.
Next time you see a substance just blending with water to form a homogeneous arrangement, then know it is very social and it is liked by water.
