Molecular diameter of nitrogen is 364 pm.

If the spacing in the gas is D , then a volume of D 3 is needed for each gaseous molecule. The ratio d 3 / D 3 = volume occupied by a liquid gas/volume occupied by the same mass of the gas. So, the average distance of the gas molecules is the (volume of gas/volume of liquid) 1/3 x the molecular diameter.
