Answer: A solution made up of two or many component(usually solute and solution or it could be mixture two liquid-liquid, liquid-solid, liquid-gas). How the component interact with each other that determine the type of solution like ideal or non ideal.
Characteristics of ideal solution: They will follow the Raoult's law(The law states that mole fraction of the solute component is directly proportional to its partial pressure).
In terms of enthalpic consideration solute and a solvent having similar molecular size and structure and have similar interaction energy.
Example: Benzene and Toluene mixture.
Characteristics of non ideal solution: A non-ideal solution is a solution that does not follow the Raoult's law. Here the solute-solute interactions and solvent-solvent interaction is different from that of solute-solvent interaction.
Example: Ethanol and Water mixture.
