Grignards reagent tend to react with epoxides in a manner similar to the SN2 reaction: attack occurs at the least substituted carbon of the epoxide. And this resulted in a negatively charged oxygen (alkoxide): to produce final alcohol product, we need to quench the reaction with a source of acid, forming O–H.
