Hard water is water that contain high amounts of dissolved minerals, such as calcium bicarbonate. Hard water can be 'softened' by removing the dissolved calcium bicarbonate. This is done by adding sodium carbonate. Calcium carbonate precipitates out from the reaction. Write the chemical equation including the state symbol for the reaction
