We performed a lab that involved the single displacement of copper(II)hydrate with aluminum. One question asks; If you wanted to use aluminum as the limiting reagent, what changes in the procedure would be made? What visible evidence would you look for?

If aluminium will be a limiting reagent, it will be completely dissolved in the solution of a copper(II) salt. After the reaction you will get completely dissolved aluminium, copper metal precipitate and a solution, which is still blue:

2Al + 3Cu(2+) = 2Al(3+) + 3Cu
