Both process are based on the process, that takes on the cathode: Mn+ + ne- = M0 As a result, in case of the electroplating metal slowly precipitates on the cathode, “plating” it. In case of the electrorefining, metal with impurities is placed on the anode in the acidic solution and then metal transfers into the solution and precipitates on the cathode on the same basis in its pure form.
