If a red cabbage has pink leaves it means that the soil where it grows is acidic. Namely, the pH of it is less than 7 and a high concentration of the protons are the main characteristics of the soil. Because the cabbage roots absorb the macro and micro soluble particles from the soil, acid comes too and leads to the colour's change.
