A manufacturing company is trying to produce a lightweight but strong cart for use by home gardeners.
Explain which metal—titanium (Ti), iron (Fe), or zinc (Zn)—would be the best for this application and
why?
Since the cart has to be strong, then first we must consider the tensile strength and density of the metals before choosing.
Ti=240MPa Density=4.5g/cm3
Fe=540MPa. Density=7.845g/cm³
Zn=37MPa. Density=7.1g/cm³
Definitely the most ideal metal would be Iron because of high tensile strength hence won't break easily. A density of 7.8g/cm³ is relatively manageable
