The example which show the correct way to set up the calculation of moles of CaCl2 is calculated as follows


moles of CaCl2 = mass of CaCl2(23.4 g/molar mass of CaCl2 ( 110.98 g/mol)


moles of CaCl2 = 23.4 g/ 110.98 g/mol = 0.211 moles

grams will cancel out each other
