I have packed about half a jar with steel wool and filled it with water and acetic acid 24% and let it soak for 2-3 days. I could´t see any rust on the steel wool, is it possible? If yes, why did´t it rust?
No it's not possible.
This is because acetic acid, it removed the coating the quickest. Making it rust the quickest because the steel wool with the acetic acid exposed to air the quickest, and the oxygen in air attached to the iron in the steel the quickest creating iron oxide which is rust the quickest
