𝐶 𝑙 - in the composition of sodium chloride.

In an aqueous solution of table salt, sodium ions and chloride ions have no color, smell, and are not poisonous. Sodium ions 𝑁 𝑎 do not have reducing properties, chloride ions 𝐶 𝑙 -do not have oxidizing properties.

The properties of sodium and chlorine ions differ from the properties of the atoms that formed them.

Thus, metallic sodium, consisting of 𝑁 𝑎 0 atoms, reacts violently with water, forming hydrogen gas and sodium hydroxide, is easily oxidized in air, is a strong reducing agent.
